These mineral mortar and pestles are hand carved and polished. A mortar and pestle is used these to crush herbs, spices and medicine. Choose the color you prefer, green onyx or banded Onyx. The banded Onyx is a mixture of the colors green, cream, and brown.

Onyx has a hardness of 7 and is a part of the Quartz family.  It is made of a variety of chalcedony. Onyx is often carved and then polished. It can be carved into figurines, cups, plates, lamps, paper weights. It comes in a big variety of colors, such as pink, white, cream, green, brown, black, green and red. It also can be dyed.

Measurements: These stand 2 inches tall and are 1.75 in diameter.

Cleaning Instructions: You can gently hand wash this in a mild soap and lukewarm water. Then rinse and pat dry.
